Job Description

As a Senior Hardware Development Engineer  you will work alongside our Servo Electronics HW team members to support the development of our new custom mixed signal power IC to support our HDD product line. In this position, you will support the development of products that will drive our company’s growth. In this role, you will support the team through the processes of working with semiconductor vendors and other internal functional teams. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and apply problem solving, work on cross-functional teams and learn about Power Electronics and Servo-Mechanical topics related to Hard Disk Drives

YOUR ROLE: 

  • Work with DC_DC voltage regulators.
  • Work on automated test system for Hard disk drives.
  • Work with Motor control systems. 
  • Collect data and prepare technical reports
  • Implementing engineering and design changes
  • Documentation of engineering and material specifications
  • Assist engineering and cross-functional teams to resolve process/quality problems
  • Ability to work in a cross functional environment
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master degree majoring in EE, or a related degree.

Compensation & Benefits Details

  • An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
  • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
  • You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance. Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan.
